But sometimes, after a long week at work or having just put the kids to bed, it can be difficult to tap into the inspiration that you need…

Whether it’s for a special occasion such as Easter, Christmas or a birthday celebration or just a great way to get together for good conversation and good food with great friends there is a lot to think about:

• What recipes shall I choose that balance preparation time with a ‘wow’ factor?
• How can I create a dinner party theme that will work and link everything together?
• Can I do something different?
• Why can’t I find what I want in my trusty recipe books!!!

I created this site because of my passion for food and entertaining. Over the years I have expanded my thinking and had lots of fun along the way. Creating the perfect evening should be fun. You should enjoy the planning, the preparation and, finally, the consumption!

Whatever your level of experience and passion for cooking there will be ideas for you. Some of the most amazing and impressive recipes have been the most simple (thanks to my wife Jeanette for teaching me this important lesson!). And you can also spice up an evening with a simple Amuse Bouche or a home made ice cream that can be prepared well in advance.
